Level 3 · Lesson 4

Rotations: Standing and in the Butterfly

Turn your head, chest, hands and hips to stay square to the puck before you move, standing up or in the butterfly: look, rotate, then push.

A rotation is where you turn your body so you stay square to the puck as it moves: your head, chest, hands, and hips all point at the puck. Your eyes and head turn first, then your hands (stick) and chest, and lastly your hips and legs follow. You can rotate standing up or in the butterfly. A rotation happens before your movement (T-push, butterfly slide, etc.): look, rotate, then push.
